I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW; What books did Palin want removed from the library? If people felt ‘threatened’ of losing their jobs, why continue working for someone they ‘feared?’ And… Why wouldn’t she endorse her Mother-in-law for Mayor?

PLEASE… If you want to ‘inform’ me, give me more information that backs up your statements. I’m keeping an open mind about both candidates, but your ‘open letter’ sounds a bit full of anti-Palin personal feelings.

It sounds like Sarah Palin talks a pretty good game, but does not have the substance to back it up. I do think she is fascinating, however, I am all for Barack Obama.

What Sarah Palin has going for her are her strong opinions and her cunning ability to use power to her advantage (this is a compliment). Nevertheless, as VP and (God forbid) potential President, her skills are woefully inadequate. It’s one thing to clean house as a newly elected Governor and put your own loyalists in to move your agenda. It’s entirely another thing to effect congressional change where you only have veto rights. Palin has no experience moving the needle except when everyone around her agrees with her. It is frightening how uninformed she is in national (Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are private corporations) and world issues; no surprise when you consider that she got her first passport in 2007(!) and that she questioned the efficacy of the VP role (http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0808/12969.html) until she was actually named as a candidate for that very role. The list goes on. As a woman, I’m glad women are being taken seriously as possible leaders of the country, but with so much riding on this election, I’m looking for the best possible leader who will take our country in the right direction; not for a symbolic win.

I am a Liberal Democrat and will be 80 this month.I have had wins and losses in my choices for President and now it is Obama. Right now I’m afraid.If I lose this time to McCain and Palin what will I leave to my Grandchildren and Great Grand Child. I mean it I’m frightened!

I also posted the letter, and the first response I received was pro-Palin, but basically just an opinion, which is fine. We all have them.

Folks, no matter what party you belong to, please just ask for the facts – that is all. To me, Kilkenny is the first person to give us some hard numbers. That is all we are asking for, okay?

How come when information even information based on facts from anyone not a loyal republican, a “smear” campaign, but somehow it is okay to call Michelle Obama the “baby mama” or the Obama’s teamwork fist bump a “terrorist fist bump” on FOX News? Can you imagine what would be said if Obama’s teenage daughter was pregnant and the father was put up on stage with them? I am so tired of the double standard and all of the lies coming from the right. Palin may be smart and powerful but her record and views must be scrutinized so that people can make informed decisions. Looking at her record only, the facts only, I can conclude that Palin is not fiscally conservative, weak on environmental protection, anti-choice, socially ultra-conservative – abstinence only, questions separation between church and state, pro-guns and has limited experience especially in foreign affairs. Palin is a poor choice because her extreme views as supported by her record make her a divider.

Let me straighten this out for the men who are reading, when a woman is jealous or has sour-grape-syndrome she calls the object of her hatred a bitch, and demeans her character. It is what the female of the species does, and this letter is no different. As a female, reading between the lines, she is furious about Palins “b abe” status, success, large family, cute hubby, position of power, and commendable actions in the face of having a special needs child. In other words, if she was a man she would be Keith Olberman.

Thank you for your insight into the biarre choice of Governor Palin as V.P. She is a lightweight and I think McCain as lost his marbles.
She is no Hillary Clinton nor is she even close to Kay Baily Hutchinson. The Republicans must think we are all dumb. If we elect John McCain perhaps we are.

As we all know, these are challenging times. Then again, haven’t we have challenging times throughout history within our country? I have served this country for 8 years in the U.S.A.F and never have once received viable information that gave credibility to our mission. However That was the U.S.military. Now as a veteran and a civilian,Am I not owed the truth about the History our potential candidates and the mental structure of there rational choices by there past accomplishment and future promises?

Sounds like Anne has a bone to pick with Sarah Palin.

“…she has hated me since back in 1996, when I was one of the 100 or so people who rallied to support the City Librarian against Sarah’s attempt at censorship.”

I think that this letter should be taken lightly. I don’t know Anne any more than I know Sarah, having not heard of either until recently in the news. Email letters are like good gossip… they can be edited and modified by individuals to promote their point or agenda. Dig into all the other candidate’s pasts and I’m sure you will find similar facts. What good is a politician if he/she doesn’t upset a few people along the way? I’m sure Barack Obama has knocked down a few individuals on his way up the political ladder.

I guess that this letter proves to us even more that she truly is a seasoned, well rounded politician – ready for anything that comes her way.

It’s so refreshing to read the words of someone who knows Palin and isn’t afraid to tell the truth. I’m pretty good at reading people and between the lines – after watching the ‘pit bull’ give her little cheerleading speech, I knew she was someone I would not trust or want anywhere near DC. I hope the rest of the country has the same sense.
