Well, our volcano has decided to blow after months of seismic foreplay.
I watched Augustine blow as a child from the Anchor Point beach. I thought it was a preview to the second coming. Lightning bolts shooting down into the broken cone and a sky turned red.
Should the ash turn in the wind for Anchorage, it’ll be a mess. For locals: face masks aren’t an over reaction. Don’t drive unless you have to…the ash is too much for your air filters.
Hang in there… remember, the only thing wilder than our volcanos and bears are our politics.
