What “Hopey, Changey” Looks Like

  1. I love the thrill and chills the hopey, changey stuff gives me!

Thank you for passing on this vid.
It is a good day to be alive!

  2. Wow.

  3. Love it!! The Hopey-Changey thing strikes me as something that beats the whaley out of No hope-No change. 🙂

  4. YES WE CAN!

  5. Hopey-Changey not Dopey-Derangey 🙂

    • LOL

  6. Hi Shannyn ,

Thanks for sharing . I have also shared this courageous, great, significant ,relevant , positive result with my family.

It feels so refreshing to witness some hopeful intelligence at work .

I am deathly exhausted of all of the negative , hateful spalin type violence inciting rhetoric ,lies and blatant cheating for self serving purposes.

  7. Thank you so much! Why did we not see these people on TV instead of the unending coverage of the tea party zealots and Sarah Palin’s inane pronouncements? I wasn’t even aware of these folks and the great work they did.

I am a Canadian and enjoy good health care without worrying about how to pay for it and am so pleased that your country has the start of a universal program.

I watched Sarah Palin at the RNC convention when she was announced as Vp choice and was appalled by her junior high mean girl persona and “me,me, me” bragging. I have never seen any reason to change my mind.

  8. Wow is right. This is one granny who respects her smart President. Thanks Shannyn.

  9. President Obama is intelligent and cares about the American people. The health care bill was part of his campaign promise and he worked hard to deliver. I see this video and I am inspired. I hear Sarah Palin and I want to throw up because she is so over her head, has no new ideas to provide, only bashes people to make herself look better. I can see right through it and I hope eventually her die hard fans will wake up one day before they waste anymore of their time worshipping her.

  10. Thank you so much for posting this. I am very proud of our President, and very proud of all the community organizers out there! I don’t know how to do it, but if someone knows how to post this to every possible Sarah Palin website just to show her and her loonies what real character looks like, even for a second, it would make my day.

  11. Since you bring up the subject of “hopey-changey”…did you see this story on HP

Turns out Sarah Palin NEVER interviewed LL Cool J or Toby Keith for her supposed “show” on FOX. LL insisted they pull his interview footage from 2 years ago….Keith should do the same. Send producers scrambling for air time to fill.

I wished they had run something similar during the HCR process to counteract all the hateful Tea Party rallies. People need to see positive things and the negative always gets the headlines. It doesn’t change us ,other than to put more steel in our spines, who already understand, but it does affect those who are not involved and don’t really pay attention. I am amazed by people I talk to who haven’t a clue about the good things Obama is doing, or how it will affect them and theirs personally. They only go with the negative. So our job, is to keep spreading the word. Fired up, and Ready to GO.

It isn’t over yet. Our President sees the big picture, he uses common sense, and knows he can’t get everything we want right off the get go. One step at a time. Example….the energy bill he talked about today. It will take years to get the infrastructure up and running for renewable energy and even when it is all running we will still need some oil. I know he will insist good judgment is used. These issues are not always black and white, but he has a vision, and he knows how to get there.

Thanks for listening to me. I got on a roll there! smile

As always, Thank you Shannyn for all you do!

  13. Thank you, all of you beautiful people that I will never know– I am at peace and wish each of you, peace and all of the joy you can stand! Hope and change?——-heck YES!

  14. I share the above sentiments re hopey changey…it makes me smile and gets me all warm inside when I hear our president speak. I can’t imagine life as we know it, if Obama lost…I’d be sitting in a bomb shelter right now eating food out of a can.

    • That is too close to the truth, for comfort. What a scary thought! President Obama is exactly what we needed. I still find it amazing that he was around at precisely the right time. He is remarkable.

  15. Yes we can.. Yes we did…Yes we will!!!

  16. We gave them “confidence” to do this?

But it evidently didn’t give anyone at the White House or in Congress ENOUGH “confidence” to give us a public option or to allow us the opportunity to get a single payer cost analysis from the government budget folks. (So that amount of inadequate confidence was OUR fault, was it? The lack of a public option or consideration of singlepayer was OUR fault only, and had nothing to do with rigidity/uncooperativeness in the highest Democratic echelons of the Legislative and Executive Branches? That lack of confidence to go all the way and fix the system with a not-for-profit health care template had nothing to do with promises that needed to be kept to those big corporate donors from the insurance and pharmaceutical industries?)

Of course, Palin is a mercenary airhead. She’s a diversion; her presence makes everybody tighten ranks around whatever we voted for in 2008.

But this slick ‘change’ P.R. commercial from the president worries me too.

We still have a predatory for-profit health insurance system that makes oodles of money on the backs of sick Americans, so this “new” version of U.S. for-profit health care must be no more or less than an anemic change in a painfully relativist changey-hopey world, afterall. It’s all relative: This makes you feel great. It makes me feel duped (because I really don’t see the benefit in being forced (by mandates) in this role as victim in rigged predatory for-profit health care scheme).

  17. Wish i could be as happy as others here. I see more hopey than changy. Not that i wont try but i aint countin no frikkin chickens.

  18. Now, that THAT you ignorant GOPers and Teabaggers. Better get on board the “Future Bus” or you’ll be forever forgotten in its dust.

  19. Awesome!

  20. Nora, I feel somewhat as you do about it not being enough. As long as the insurance companies are still able to rip off the consumers for insurance premiums, despite their having to spend 85% of our premiums on actual health care, I don’t see it being enough of a change. I am thankful that it got this far but we still have a long road to get to where we have universal health care.

Some of the blame lies on the shoulders of Obama supporters, myself included. I should have spoke up about the public option more, written more letters, made more phone calls, etc. The blame also lies with President Obama and Congress as they let us down as far as the public option went.

As an Obama voter, who worked hard to get him elected, I should have done the same with healthcare. He has the weight of the world on his shoulders and for his first year and a half, with all the opposition he faces, he has come far. My Mother was reminding me earlier that besides healthcare, he’s dealing with two wars, the economy, the financial institutions and an unrelenting media who is almost as determined to see him fail as they were to see him win. If only the media could go back to reporting the actual news and leaving the opinions home, we’d know what was actually going on in the world and be able to see things without the filter of the journalist doing the reporting.

I’m hoping that the public option will not be forgotten for years to come. If the 2010 elections do not favor the GOP as they are hoping, possibly the public option will be introduced again by Grayson as long as he’s re-elected. I sent him a donation last week in honor of his speaking out against Palin.

BTW, thanks for showing the crowds, it looks like more than the 400 people that was reported on C4P. Imagine that?! They must have lied!

  21. I want to commend all of you for working so hard and being so strong at helping the whitehouse and congress begin to address our U.S. and Global healthcare crisis. You have been AWESOME! my fellow Americans and peoples of the World. America and the World is better and safer for it. My greatest pride is the knowledge that I am one of you. And that you really get it. You really understand the importance of it all.

There are some potentially very good things in the healthcare legislation. Especially with the reconciliation fix’s. The Democrats, Bernie Sanders and the Whitehouse did a GREAT! job of fighting to produce the best healthcare legislation that they could. They have earned all our strong support. And we should give it to them.

But it was your relentless pressure and hard work that made the difference. Whatever good comes from this healthcare legislation, America and the peoples of the World will have each of you to thank. You were smart, creative, courageous and relentless. You fought together for the best legislation possible. And when you had to, you fought alone. No matter who stumbled and fell you continued to push and forge ahead. Fighting for the lives and health of the American people and the World. YOU SHOULD BE PROUD OF YOUR-SELVES 🙂

It may come to pass that future generations will look back on us and say that we were ALL Americas Greatest Generations. And that healthcare reform was our finest hour. You should be proud of our leaders President Obama, Speaker Pelosi, Majority Leader Reid and the many other Democratic and independent fighters for the people in congress. They proved them-self worthy of the leadership of a GREAT! PEOPLE.

But we are not done yet. This was just the beginning of healthcare reform, not the end. WE THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES, ARE NOT! divided on healthcare legislation. The vast majority of you have been consistently crystal clear that this legislation does not go far enough. You want a strong Government-run Public Option CHOICE!! available to everyone on day one. And you want it NOW! YOU MUST NOT ALLOW AN INDIVIDUAL MANDATE TO STAND WITHOUT A STRONG GOVERNMENT-RUN PUBLIC OPTION CHOICE! AVAILABLE TO EVERYONE.

WE THE PEOPLE have been crystal clear that we want an end to dependence on for-profit healthcare and the for-profit proxies called private for non-profit healthcare. The American people want the CHOICE! of a strong Government-run Public Option to replace their need or dependence on healthcare providers whose primary motivation is profit. Rather than providing the highest quality, easiest accessible and most affordable medically necessary healthcare possible. This is what the rest of the developed World has. And the American people want it too. They want healthcare ASSURANCE! Not, for-profit health insurance. And they want it NOW!

Now is the time to continue the push for a strong Government-run Public Option CHOICE! available to everyone that wants it on day one. Rationally it’s clear what we have to do to get this done. SUPPORT THE DEMOCRATS that supported you with a Public Option, and REMOVE as many republicans as you can. Not one republican in congress was willing to step across the isle to support a strong Government-run Public Option CHOICE!! available to everyone on day one. NOT ONE! Let no candidate prevail this November that does not support a Strong Government-run Public Option.

47,000 AMERICANS die each year from lack of healthcare. 120,000 die from treatable illness that don’t die in other developed countries. Hundreds of thousands of you are dieing from medical accidents in a rush to profit. And Millions are injured. Millions are driven into bankruptcy. All for the privilege of paying two to three times as much as any other people in the developed world for healthcare. HOGWASH!

Additionally, tens of thousands of you and your children were killed and millions sickened and injured from a terror attack with H1N1 (swine flu). Released on the American people and the World by the for-profit healthcare industry. All in an attempt to panic and frighten you into excepting the oxymoronic criminal enterprise of private for-profit healthcare (The most costly, deadly, dangerous, and disgraceful product sold in America). H1N1 is still sickening people and killing them. Especially children, the young and the middle aged. And there will be a third wave. These are the terrorist you need to worry about the most. Even the so-called international terrorist would not do something so INSANE! But greed driven medical profiteers would and did.

Apparently as far as republicans in GOVERNMENT are concerned, YOU! my fellow Americans – CAN JUST DROP DEAD! Including their own family members. Fools! Hundreds of thousands of you, and possibly millions of you will die from the long-term effects of your infection and poisoning with H1N1.

So my fellow Human Beings. Rest-up, Take good care of the basics (Balanced nutrition, hydration, exercise, rest and POSITIVE emotional supports). Then wade back into the FIGHT! for a strong Government-run Public Option CHOICE! available to everyone on day one. Drug re-importation, Abolishment or strong restrictions on patents for biologic and prescription drugs. And government controlled and negotiated drug and medical cost, NOW! You must take back control of your healthcare system from the Medical Industrial Complex. This is a matter of National and Global security. There can be NO MORE EXCUSES.

God Bless You My Fellow Human Beings. I’m glad to know of you. And proud to be one of you.

See you on the battle field.

    jacksmith – WorkingClass 🙂

  22. I’ve been active in OFA and am proud of what our President has been able to achieve. Yeah, not having the Public Option is a let down, but considering what he was up against, it’s an amazing accomplishment. And he did it without Facebook and Twitter, Go Figure!

  23. It feels alot better than that “whinny LOOSIE” sISTER sARA HAS GOIN ON!!!!!
