Join us tomorrow, Thursday, August 12, for a special EARLY taping of Moore Up North to look back on the life and legacy of Senator Ted Stevens.

Due to scheduling conflicts, we will be taping an hour and a half earlier than normal. Taping will begin at 4:00pm at Bernie’s Bungalow in the newer upstairs lounge. Bernie’s is located at 626 D Street on the NW corner of 7th and D St.

Our PANELISTS:

Arliss Sturgulewski-was elected to the Anchorage Charter Commission, the Anchorage Assembly, and to the Alaska State Senate from 1978 through 1992. She was the Republican candidate for governor of Alaska in 1986 and 1990. A trustee for the University of Alaska Foundation, she serves on the Advisory Council for the University of Alaska School of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences in addition to numerous other statewide boards and commissions.

In addition, we will debate the merits of Ballot Prop 2 with Dr. Monique Karaganis-NO ON 2! and a representative(s) to be determined from the YES ON 2! camp.

We should have a good crowd, so get off work early and join us for a martini!

  1. Hi Shannyn,

I live in California and thought I knew everything I needed to know about Ted Stevens. I happened to see your first tweets about the crash and followed along as the grim news came out. Like you, I was revolted by some of the comments and sick jokes that came from the idiots. It is sad that you had to keep reminding some to give it a rest for just one day. Today I listened to your podcasts from Tuesday’s show. You didn’t call it a tribute but that is surely what it was. I learned a few things about him that I did not know, mostly about how much he was loved and how much he meant to Alaskans. You have a lot of heart and class Shannyn.
