Dr. Laura On Sarah Palin

I thought this was interesting given Sarah Palin’s defense of Dr. Laura’s use of the N word. Maybe Sarah wasn’t defending Dr. Laura,  just the use of the N word.  After all, as Governor, Sarah Palin refused to sign the Juneteenth Proclamation-the annual celebration of the end of slavery.

Here was part of Dr. Laura’s blog post September 2, 2008.

I’m stunned – couldn’t the Republican Party find one competent female with adult children to run for Vice President with McCain? I realize his advisors probably didn’t want a “mature” woman, as the Democrats keep harping on his age. But really, what kind of role model is a woman whose fifth child was recently born with a serious issue, Down Syndrome, and then goes back to the job of Governor within days of the birth?

I am haunted by the family pictures of the Palins during political photo-ops, showing the eldest daughter, now pregnant with her own child, cuddling the family’s newborn. When Mom and Dad both work full-time (no matter how many folks get involved with the children), it becomes a somewhat chaotic situation. Certainly, if a child becomes ill and is rushed to the hospital, and you’re on the hotline with both Israel and Iran as nuclear tempers are flaring, where’s your attention going to be? Where should your attention be? Well, once you put your hand on the Bible and make that oath, your attention has to be with the government of the United States of America.

Now, what’s really going on?

  1. I like the last sentence. Oath.

  2. “Birds of a feather, stick together.” That is an old saying that my father used to say, but it still rings true today.

  5. Saw this same quote from our new quitter queen #2 on CNN tonight/360 show.

  9. What does everyone think about the “Are Republican Women Hotter then Democrat Women?

You should see what some of the comments were…

    • I think we are still part third grader, out on the playground giggling over the new kid in class.

No one is 100% grown up, it seems.

  10. Somehow Dr. L missed the most important reason not to vote for Palin; her near total lack of information on serious adult concerns.

Even with a perfect family, she is at best, trainable.

    • A perfect family? Are you being facetious?

Do you see how Bistrol is living her life and how her daughters acted and spoke at the sign of Kathleen Gustafson? Palin never uttered a word to them…

If I ever talked like that around my mother, no matter what my age, she would have threatened to wash my mouth out with soap., But, I respected her too much to talk that way around her.

Other than having small feet and the same husband, all of these years, I do not see her life as perfect.

      Southern smiles and world peace,

  11. I am waiting for 3M to come out with SarahStickies….They are Post-It Notes shaped like a hand you can write your “core values” down on so you don’t forget what they are….

  12. The N Word Cometh…

The N Word Cometh for you …

    N-sanity

It is an UGLY word, and feels ugly when uttered. There are few words in the vernacular of Americans that reprise such negativity.

I think men and women when they utter it- experience an almost “kid on the playground” type guilt when it comes out of their mouths.

But like evil unleashed once it’s out there, an urge to repeat it and maybe dilute your own sense of shame and venom filled hate, makes it all the easier to keep repeating it.

Each time a little easier and a little less self loathing.

Safety in numbers, numbness by dilution…

  13. It is a sad country when so many hard working Americans are fighting for their job just to survive and then there are people like Sarah Palin and her family who cash in millions for spewing hatred and intolerance. They contribute nothing to the betterment of society. In some ways it’s such a popularity contest and SP definitely is good at that game. But I do believe karma is coming!

  14. I agree with Lisa D., it is sort of like high school…a popularity game. With Sarah Palin as head cheerleader. Not only is hate spread like peanut butter on white bread but so are lies and fear.

Any thing to keep the people from joining together and becoming a open single group. which is for the people. This is how they keep us separated and in an uproar.
